Cuil Stumbles on Launch, but Beats Google in Key Relevancy Metric

Net Applications Global Internet Usage Market Share shows Cuil (pronounced cool) making an early impact versus Google in a key relevancy metric. Cuil is a new search engine created by former Google engineers (http://www.cuil.com). It was released to the public on 7/28. Net Applications has usage share numbers starting the next day. Cuil was able to reach .26% share on the first day we started tracking. However, there have been widespread reports of outages and problems with its search results.

Even with the initial problems, Cuil was able to beat Google in a key metric that measures relevancy of search results, which is the amount of time a user spends on a site after being referred by a search engine. Here are the results for the last three days of July:

Search Engine Avg. Minutes on Site
Cuil 9.65
Google 9.37
Yahoo 8.57

Conclusion:

Google needs to improve its search results for any query more strongly. Otherwise it is a big threat to Google from Cuil.com. So another threat which is directly exerting on google is from Yahoo! Inc. Google may defend itself by improving and displaying searching criteria. One more reason I could found at Cuil, is that providing search results in detail. Contents over Cuil.com are displaying broadly and explained each and everything in respect of search results. All in all Cuil.com is giving us a great opportunity of finding relevant and more precise content based search results.

You are right Bilal

You are right Bilal, I can see that Cuil.com has something different than Google and i.e. displaying contents widely with great information. A brand new threat to Google. Google also defending its rivals like msn and yahoo. And now cuil.com stricking on its back ;)

Is Google Being Cheated by the Web Owners

I've seen that Google is cheated by the Web Owners, like a company running its duplicate content with different urls, has no.1 on Google under the medical billing company keyword. Strange to see that until now Google is not aware from such spammers. I'd say that stop spamming around us. Google damn care of spammer, until someone compalining hard to it. If you want to see a kind of spamming then visit bot the urls and make the difference:

www.medicalbillingphr.com> is No.1 on Google for (medical billing company keyword)

The same contents are displaying on

www.medicalbilling-company.com

Thanks to Google for giving spammer chance of living. ;)
