What is Local Search EngineLocal Search Engines representing certain areas and operate locally. At present numerous local search engines are working in USA, UK, Australia, etc. These search engines gravely work under limited searches that could be targeted to a region or country. Simply the local search engines are using to bring traffic from targeted/certain areas. How Local Search Engines Attracts the TrafficAccording to me many search engines work for multiple audiences and many works for targeted audience. Being a search marketer I never start marketing campaign without consulting the local search engines, as this could always help me to understand the mentality and standards of local searchers. First I track them and get them in consultation. Then start observing their purchasing behavior, product influences, etc. This technique is useful and I’d recommend you to start your marketing campaign by accessing local searchers and then do what you have been assigned for. Don’t forget Leading Search EnginesIf your website attracts visitors from several countries, you might want to add up local search engines in your plans. But before we look at a few local search engines, keep in mind that often a worldwide search engine is also the local search engine leader. For example, Google is #1 search engine in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia. One example of local search engine is onet.pl Poland leading Internet Portal, and seekport.co.uk, a new search engine popping up in several European countries. Local Search Engines Support Leading Search EnginesBeyond search engines that function in just one country or region, local search also refers to searches that operate within a geographic area – even inside a city. Yellow pages sites, such as Verizon SuperPages, are the most common U.S. example of local search engines. But worldwide search engines, including Yahoo!, and Google, also use local search technology that detects the use of geographic terms in searches and finds results related to that area. So, a search for “Real Estate Florida Contractor” might find contractor in that state. But because not all searchers use geographic terms, and because those terms are frequently ambiguous (Real Estate Florida, Florida Real Estate, Majon Florida Real Estate etc.), search engines are beginning to automatically detect the physical location of the searcher (using knowledge of internet’s physical layout or IP address) and use that information in the searches.
